Rick's Story
Life
After high school, I joined the Air Force and served during the last 4 years of the Vietnam conflict. My discharge occurred in October '73. I returned to the Odessa Oil Patch and worked the drilling rigs until August of '75. On August 15, 1975 I married the former Cindy Streckert of Brownwood. Two weeks after the wedding, we moved into an apartment in College Station, Texas and I began classes at Texas A&M as a Mechanical Engineering student. I began my career as a mechanical design engineer for offshore production facilities with Sun Gas Company. Over a 12 year period, I progressed through various engineering and lower level management positions. In April of '92, Cindy and I started a consulting engineering firm called Signa Engineering Corp. in Houston Texas. The company has been quite successful and is now a global petroleum engineering consulting company. Cindy and I have two sons (Justin 19 & Ryan 16) and one daughter ( Rochelle 12). We live in Kingwood Texas.
