After high school I went to Bible college in Europe, and traveled around for a year. I came back, started up my business again, and went to Westmont College, a small Christian Liberal Arts school in Montecito, CA. I triple majored in engineering, chemistry, and religious studies, but ended up leaving before graduating. I started several more businesses (some failed, some worked), and went to school part time in business, but got bored with that. I went to my younger brother's graduation (Jeff went on to become a doctor), and met my wife Laura. I was a part-time youth pastor and running my business when we got married, but we ended up moving back to the Santa Barbara, CA area within a year. We started our family there, but moved about an hour north to Santa Maria, CA, where we still live. Laura is a gifted speaker, has a heart of compassion, and is always encouraging people (always). She had a bad concussion from an accident a while ago, so she's had to slow down a bit, but she still studies and memorizes (has down 'cold' several books of the Bible) and loves to garden - Japanese Maples, Strawberries and Tomatoes are her favorite. We have four kids (updated fall 2020): Maggie will be 31, and is a wedding florist here on the California Central Coast.
