Rino's Story
Part of my education in Castlegar was in the Robson Church Hall, we use to run on the log booms anchored on the river(at that time it was not a lake yet) also Rudy and \I paddled across the river in homemade rafts. then we moved along to the Douhabour Hall in Castlegar, kind of across the street from Cheveldave's store. then the big move to Rasberry School where we spent grade 10 , 11 and first half of grade 12. l. I gues we were the first graduating class of Stanley Humphrie's HIgh. there were either 12 or 13 of us. I remember a few, Willie Oleskie, Paul Horkoff, Gordon Buie, Kay Fox, Myself and at the moment that is all I remember.
The teachers we had along the way were. Grade 8, RE Sommers, GRade 9, Jack Charters and a Mr. Daniels, grade 10 and 11, Mr Magwood and Bill Shkwarok. I only can remember the principle in grade 12, a Mr. Thomas.
There could be a lot of tales told about those fantastic years of our education in Castlegar.
