Rita's Story

Life Hi All, 2015 saw many transitions in my life...After more than 8 years as Associate VP and Dean of Continuing Education at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC, I finally decided to retire and moved to Santa Barbara, CA to be close to my older son Jonathan and his family, which includes my grandson Zane and granddaughter Xanthea...and my new house is just 2 blocks from their house! It has been a busy time since then--getting used to being retired, including: renovating and moving into my new home; volunteering as a docent, tour guide, and historic interpreter at the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum; making some wonderful new friends; explo...Expand for more
ring my new environments and becoming an active part of my grandchildren's lives...and walking on the beach...just 5 minutes away! My Eastern fix has been satisfied by another new role...that of East-West snowbird, with regular trips to New England to visit relatives, friends, and my younger son and his family including granddaughter, Zoe (7) and grandson Misha (1) I definitely enjoy hearing from and seeing old high school friends...especially those out here in California...so please don't hesitate to contact me...and that goes for anyone who wants to visit! Now that I am retired, I hope to do a new website and post all the reunion photos.
