Life
For those who laughed in High School at my dream to be a missionary - My dream has come true, but not in the form that I had imagined. No I don't do my work in Africa, but in Pittsburg, Kansas. I work for Wesley House, which is an outreach ministry for the Methodist Church that serves the poor. I also am a certified Lay Speaker with the United Methodist Church which allows me to preach on occasion, mainly at Wesley House. I also go with a group of youth from Wi...Expand for more
chita and Tulsa each year to South Carolina for a Rural Missions project(like Habitat for Humanity) to build homes and do home repair for the poor on the islands outside of Charleston. ( My son is the Youth Director of his church in Wichita, which is how I got involved in this mission project.) I spent 26 years as an Air Force wife traveling all over the U.S., plus 4 yrs. in Japan and 3 yrs. in Germany. It is great to be in the great state of Kansas fulfilling my dream.
