R.J.'s Story
It's hard to believe that we were ever frustrated by the slow hands on the Whitmer classroom clocks, worried that 2:15pm would never arrive. Twenty five years later those hands are moving way too fast.
I'm the proud father of two, Jack is six and Julia is three. Along with my wife Andrea, we live in Perrysburg, Ohio. Andrea taught English at Notre Dame Academy for 8 years, and most recently has been a stay at home mom for almost four years.
After high school I graduated from UT then moved to Indianapolis in 1991. I worked there for about 3 1/2 years and moved back to Toledo when I began to understand the value of being closer to friends and family.
I remained single until I was 34, and I spent the remainder of the 1990's working in the advertising industry and working on my golf game. und was 65, and I once had 7 birdies in a row in competition. I entered the 1998 US Open but did not make it all the way to the big day.
In 1998 I met my wife Andrea and we were married on the beach in St Croix, VI in 1999. She is originally from Los Angeles but has lived here most of her life. Since 2002 I have worked as an employee benefits agent with Roemer Insurance in Toledo and was promoted to Vice President in late 2006. I serve on the Board of Directors for TASBA and the Maumee Chamber of Commerce and I am involved in several other business endeavors. I am the president of the Greater Toledo Republican Club until my term expires in May 2008.
I still enjoy playing golf, but am not at my peak performance anymore. Still, Scott Walsh ('83) and I are well matched and we play often, ideally with Grey Goose in the cart to loosen the swing muscles.
If there happens to be a 25th reunion this year I will problably attend. I look forward to receiving details in the mail.
