Rob's Story
After graduating from SPHS, I spent a couple of mandatory years at PCC transferring to USC in 1962 where I was a business major and member of Phi Delta Theta. In 1965, I enlisted in the California National Guard completing their Officer Candidate School coming out a 2nd Lieutenant headquartered in Arcadia.
With a career in advertising, I started with Interpublic Group of Companies working on Carnation products. Next came Young & Rubicam working on Hunts Foods and Security Bank followed by a fifteen-year relation with Davis-Elen in Los Angeles working on KFC and Glendale Federal. share of the company and went into semi retirement.
As of our 50th Reunion, I will be celebrating 42 years of marriage. My wife, Jan is also a native Californian having grown up in Altadena and graduating from John Muir High School. We have two daughters, Kari and Robin who graduated from South Pasadena High School in 1990 and 1993 respectively. I keep in contact with a number of SPHS classmates, enjoy golf, semi-retirement and doing consultation for a licensee of Apple, Inc.
In 2007, Jan and I moved to San Juan Capistrano after 31 years living in South Pasadena. We now enjoy a leisurely life in South Orange County with a continuing closeness to our daughters, their husbands and one grandchild.
