Rob's Story

Catch 'em up on what you've done and who you are. I have done much yet so little. After school, I worked remotely for several years. In 1996, I moved to Washington with my fiance. There I worked for WDFW, PSMFC, a custom woodworking shop and an environmental consulting firm. In 2002, I moved to Oregon where I still live. Here, I have worked for ODFW, an evironmental consulting firm and presently work in another woodworking shop. I build high end furniture and cabinets. Along the way, I have gone to PWSCC, UAJ,Portland State U, Oregon State U (online) and have found that nothing compares to learning through living. Living true to what you ...Expand for more
beleive and true to yourself. With that philosophy, I got divorced in 2007. Now, I devote my time to local community activities. The most recent and current activity being a volunteer stream restoration project in Oregon City. I love being able to apply knowledge to issues that are meaningful to me. In the past, it felt like everything that I did for work in the environmental field was allowing or permitting further ecological damage. There just wasnt a sense of accomplishment. With woodworking there is. I get a sketch or draw something up with given dimensions and details and build it. Done. Accomplished. I find it to be very satisfying.
