Robbie Diane's Story
Life:
I retired on January 6, 2006 after 30 years of coaching, teaching and school administration. I started a new career on Jan. 17th working for the state. I hated the job and resigned after about 9 weeks. I sat home a couple of weeks and almost lost my mind so I took a teaching position with the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs on the White Mountain Apache Reservation in Az. It was alot of fun and very interesting. I lived 15 miles off the highway across 3 beautiful canyons in the back of nowhere. I even had to chop firewood to stay warm. Those of you who know me know that is not my idea of a good time. I went back to my home on Inks Lake in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. I stayed home about a year and took off again. I taught in Woodward, Oklahoma about 40 miles from the Kansas border. I really enjoy the Oklahoma weather--we all think the Texas weather is crazy---I have now experienced a snowstorm and a tornado on the sameday???? And a full blown F5 tornado!!!!! I have become such an Okie that I drive around to pickup fast food before going to the shelter after the tornado warning has been announced. I even think being snowed in for 3 or 4 days during a 36 inch blizzard is the ultimate---just be sure you have all kinds of snack food, hot cider, old movies,a good book or two and a great old flannel bathrobe to lounge around in. In May of 2014 I moved to
a small town in Southwest Oklahoma. i taught in Fre...Expand for more
derick, Oklahoma at Frederick High School. Not as much snow and much closer to my Hill Country home.
I finally retired in 2016 after over 40 years in education.
I returned to my lovely home on Inks Lake in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
I was honored to serve Sul Ross State University as a member of the alumni board.for over 9 years. I’ve made many trips to beautiful Alpine, Texas over the years.
Well you know I’m not the sit home type so I became a Bail Bondsman,
I write bonds in Burnet, Llano, Blanco, Lampasas and Hamilton Counties in Central Texas. Call me if you need me......lol. I’m on the road a lot.
I also have season tickets to the Spur’s. Look for me around downtown San Antonio or at the ATT Center during basketball season!!!!!
After years of hauling show cattle all over the Southern US I get cabin fever pretty often. I enjoy traveling in the Southwest, Northest,, along the East coast and in Mexico. I wish Mexico would get its problems worked out, I am suffering an urge to "run for the border" right now.
I do most of my traveling with my Beagle, Bobbi McGee. And my Red Heeler Confetti Lantana. Those 2 girls rule the roast around here.
I would like to invite my ole friends to drop me a line and let me know what is going on in their lives.
FYI. I no longer live in Frederick, OK. I now reside on Inks Lake, TX between Burnet and Llano!!!! Just off State Hwy 29. This silly website will not let me change my current location.
