Robert's Story
Life
'Tsup everybody! Life has been GREAT since leaving the 'ville! First, I went off to College (Clemson, BSME 1989), then on to a Career at GE, where I'm now a project manager for our gas turbine customers.
Today, I've got a GREAT wife of twenty-four years (Janice), 2 GREAT kids (see Chris, 20, and Cameron, 18, in the photo), 1 cat, and 3 dogs (I must be crazy). We all live in Greenville, SC (the Upstate). And, believe it or not, I've still got that blue and white 1965 Mustang...some things never change!

Workplace
While at Clemson I began working with GE Power & Water in Greenville, SC as an intern. I followed that assignment up with a co-op assignment in the same office during my last semester. Currently in my 13th job - I've done just about every job you can do in GE's Greenville Gas Turbine Facility as a Mechanical Engineer. I've worked in Manufacturing, Engineering, Gas Turbine, Wind Turbine, and Services. I've worked in leadership for ten years. In 2003, I joined a new business acquisition - GE Wind Energy. We opened an office on the Greenville Gas Turbine site, so I didn't have to move to take on a new assignment. I led a globally distributed team, ...Expand for more
so I did a lot of traveling to the west coast and Europe. It was exciting and the business challenges kept me very busy.
Now, I work in Gas Turbine Services Requisition Engineering for GE Power & Water. Since I work on customer projects, I've started traveling (again) all over the world - India, China, Mexico, Japan, and all over Europe and the US in the last three years. I love to travel, but there really is no place like home!
Outside Work
My boys are all grown up. Chris is a Junior at Clemson. He's studying Biology and is planning to go to Med School to become a Physical Therapy Doctor. Cameron just graduated from High School and will be going to Clemson in the Fall on their Bridge program to study Construction Science. It looks like Janice and I will be eating mayonaise sandwiches for the next few years!
I still have a Mustang hobby. I'm very active in the local Mustang club. We have 120 members and growing. I work with our sponsored charities to raise money for their needs. I've always had at least one 1965 Mustang and the hobby is what keeps me sane! The '65 in my photos belongs to Janice. Her Dad gave her that car when she was 15. That same year (I was 12) my Dad gave me my '65. We still have them both!
