Robert's Story

5-1-15: I retired from pole vaulting, hurt my knee last summer and had surgery. Looking for another sport to do. Still dating my main squeeze going on 18 years now. I have 5 grandchildren and the oldest age 17 is graduating this year. I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2012, that explains allot regarding my life struggles, plus the hyperactivity. I am a social worker and am becoming an expert on ADHD and teaching my clients about the disorder. Hope to see many of you at this summer's class reunion with East high. 8-14-13: I have been competing at the Senior Olympics these days. I am pole vaulting and looking to do other events. I am still a social worker for the Wyoming Department of Corrections. I have five grand-children and have been in a relationship with "my main squeeze" for 16 years. She is too private to have her name on the web. Hope all is well for you. P.S: From last post in 2011, I had a third degree sprain to my ankle and it took a year to get over it. I have not played football since, however I still want to. Retired from semi-pro football in 2009. Have been cycling on the "Seniors" circuit, crashed once and separated my shoulder. On 10-15-11 I tried out for the Cheyenne Warriors Indoor Football team. Made it to the next tryout, although I severely sprained an ankle and have been sore for days. Wish me luck. lassmates service. Thanks for thinking about me. My arm is healing well and I competed in the NE, WY, and ID Senior Games (cycling) this summer 2009. Had a lot of fun and this fall I am competing in cyclo-cross. Still a long way from good at cycling, but I am sticking with it. Season Ending Injury I hurt my arm in the Spirit Bowl (Wranglers vs. Dawgs) on 4-11-09. I finally went to the doctor on 4-16-09 and underwent surgery on 4-17-09 for a ruptured biceps tendon. They had to reconnect the tendon to the bicep and reattach the tendon to the bone below the elbow. The doctor used a screw to reattach the tendon to the bone that is supposed to dissolve. How do you like that for science? I am going to keep it short as it is hard to type. Three months recovery time, so I am done for 2009 season. Went to Boise State Univ. on a Track/Cross Country Scholarship. Lettered, set a few meet records, got hurt allot, was homesick and came home. Graduated from the Univ. of WYO and the Univ. of Denver, became a social worker, still live in Cheyenne. I am divorced, have two daughters, three grandchildren, dog, and girlfriend of twelve years. Still like to have fun and am playing semi pro football for the Wyoming Wranglers of the Colorado Football Conference as a kicker. Most of my teammates are in their 20's & 30's. I get hurt allot, but what are going to do at our age. Look forward to seeing you at the next reunion. Bob
