Robert's Story
Social Life
Married a couple of years after graduation to a girl from Glendale. Had two girls 1972 and 1976. They went to Barton. They are grown and have four grandchildren.
After marriage ended 1985 I spend 10 years on my own raising the girls. All this time living in and around Hamilton.
Remarried 1995 and moved to Stoney Creek. We bought a holiday home in Florida in Apr 2006 and get down there four - five times a year. Retirement is coming soon. After 51 years in ministry, it's time to slow down a little. Seven years past retirement and still in ministry but going to part time in 2022. This is my last year at this church. Knowing myself really well, I can't see myself retiring or sitting still.
Working Life
Worked at Dofasco 1969 until 1980. Pastored a church in Sask for a couple of year...Expand for more
s then came back to Ontario and worked at Ford Motor Co Oakville. Most of this time I also pastored churches. I write a weekly article for the Ayr News and it is on my blog, Robin's Nest.
Workplace
After working at Ford for 17 years the doctors found that I have a heart defect. Open heart surgery fixed that but Ford said, "here is your pension, bye". After taking a few more university courses I began doing Intentional Interim Ministry. Going into churches and helping them find their way again. Love my ministry. Now working at Milton Baptist Church. until the end of 2021. What happens after that is still unknown.
Favourite music, Big Band, Jazz, 50's and early 60's, Contemporary Christian Music.
Only in contact with a hand full of Hill Park SS. students. Always looking to reconnect with more.
