Robert's Story

Having had enough of school I joined the Air Force straight out of high school, under the delayed enlistment program as a Law Enforcement Police officer (OK, you can quit laughing now.) This gave me six months to ponder why I would do such a thing. I got married just prior to leaving and was widowed within six months. After six months of wallowing in my own self-pity, I decided a transfer would be in order. Florida! sugar sand beaches and women in bikinis. This some how got me beyond my grief. After a couple more transfers my four year hitch was up. 1976, unemployment was up, job hiring freezes were inplace at most police departments. ficer academy. 1978, Let's see, "join the service and learn a trade," get a degree, hmm, still no decent jobs available. I know let's do something really stupid. Let's get married and join the service again. Retired after 20 years and two marriages. 1994, let's go trucking. Trucked for 6 years and married again. This time for better or worse and it's been mostly worse. 2000, Managed a filter company in the San Antonio division. 2007, too many headaches, gas way up, travel in this position a must. Seaworld of Texas security training officer position opened. 2 minute commute from the house and seasonal employment of 10 on and 2 months off. Perfect! All in all I've had one great life. I've seen and done most things people only think about. I have few to no regrets. My motto: Live life to it's fullest. This I have done and then some. Take care all.
