Robert Bartley:

CLASS OF 1969
East orange, NJ

Robert's Story

I grew up and lived at 37 N. Walnut St across the street from the High School. Following graduation I worked for a couple of years for a Wall St brokerage firm and then in Sept. '71, after talking with Mr. George Gilbert from the choral music department of the high school, auditioned and was accepted into the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. I graduated Hartt with honors with a Bachelor's degree in Choral Conducting and have remained in Connectiut. I decided not to persue a career in music but instead made Human Resources Management my chosen "day job". Music has remained my principal avocation. ...Expand for more
I've sung professionally in New York, New Jersey, and in Connecticut and have conducted numerous church and non-professional choral groups. I've performed both classical and rock music on a growing number of CD projects. I joined the State of Connecticut in 1987 as a Human Resources Associate and today am with the Department of Mental Health as Human Resources Director for the Connecticut Mental Health Center in New Haven, a partnership between the Sate and Yale University. I'm divorced living in Rocky Hill, a town about ten miles south of Hartford. My new passion is my 2006 Honda Gold Wing Motorcycle... Look Out!!!
