Robert's Story
My story is that of relationships and those that have influenced the man I am today, especially my Mom and my Dad. I have always had the fortune to be around some awesome and beautiful people from my family, to my "Grade school" classmates during the Wake Village days through "Texas High" school classmates in Texarkana. I then moved on to a career in the military where I was blessed by wonderful leaders and peers of men and women that inspired me. Besides my hometown, I have lived in Wyoming, Alaska, Louisiana, Texas, Rhode Island, and Kuwait and visited many other places. It seems where ever I go I meet people that had profound influences for my direction. Now at 51, I cherish all of you that I have known, because in your own unique way, all of you have had a small part that made me who I am. I love you and thank you!
Today, I have gone back to school where I am about to embark on a Masters, towards clinical psychology. I have been working with horses and a future of combining research processes for horses and people with PTSD for some time now. I am moving more from the behavior end of horses to the people end of trauma. I hope that my future research with improving Equine assisted therapy helps those with trauma symptoms and PTSD on some positive scale. On a more personal note, I love people and enjoy cultivating relationships. I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy hiking around new places I have never seen; I enjoy experien...Expand for more
cing new cultures whether they be close by communities or unique cultures around the world; I have a passion for fishing (fly, ocean, & fresh water); I was an avid golfer and enjoyed many other sports. I enjoy the arts and love attending the Theater as well as musicals. One of the most important things is good food....I enjoy cooking but even more so going out and having a great dinner with a wonderful glass of wine (moderation) and wonderful company. Italian food is one of my favorites. I have lived in New England for many years now and when my daughter graduates in the next few years, we will move back to my Texas roots where she wants to go to college and be a Veterinarian. By then, I hope to do the transient thing maintaining a place for the spectacular summers in New England and a home, more than likely, around Texarkana to raise horses, be around family and âoldâ friends ⺠and help anyone that wants to listen to my thoughts...lol My spiritual foundation has always been with our Father in heaven and where I lay my faith. It has been a journey and without that relationship I would not be the person I am today. If you ever want to know more about my relationship with God and Christ, I'll sit with you over some great food where we can talk about philosophy and spirituality. I enjoy listening to people and their stories. For me, Life is about cultivating "Relationships" and Hearing what others are saying from the heart!!!
