Robert's Story
I never thought I would sign on to classmates.com, but I was flying my "Breezy" out to Leesburg Va last week end, and couldn't help but drop into Manassas Municipal Airport. On the way over, I got lucky and Dulles ATC gave me a 2200 ft Alt , so I actually got a glimps of Fairfax City from the air. That brought back a lot of memories, and since I am settled down in the Washington D.C. area now, I thought I would look up part of my past.

with a horse to take care of, he became my best friend, and my reason for living.
Eventually, I decided to dedicate what is left of my life to cancer research, so I came back up here to work on a project I started over 30 years ago in sub-molecular oncology.
Now, I am a Pediatric Oncologist working on genetic therapies. Now talk about, not doing what you set out to do in life! I wanted to be an astronaut and ended up treating kids. I can honestly say, I love my work though.
Well that's the short version, I just bought a horse farm in Mt Airy Maryland, where I live with my horses, " Doc and Wyatt" , a dog named Ricco, and a lab mouse named "Aqua Lung". I still fly my planes into the same airport I soloed at when I was 16yrs old, and I like to ride the hills with my horse Doc.
