Robert's Story
We moved away from North Syracuse in the middle of my junior year, so I missed graduating in '63 with all my friends. Instead I graduated in '63 from Gouverneur HS (north of Watertown in St Lawrence county) with my new friends. I fell in love with a beautiful young lady there who had the prettiest blue eyes and we married when I returned home from a tour in the US Navy. raised our 3 kids and are helping raise our grandkids. I retired from NCR in '05 and spend my time puttering around home and putting on the golf course. I made a trip back to North Syracuse for my nephew's graduation this year ('08) and recognized very little of the old area considering I hadn't been back in 20 years. I'd enjoy hearing from anyone who remembers Bob Carney, known as Big C by some in North Syracuse/Cicero, while some in Gouverneur knew me as the "skipper" of the Blue B, an old blue jeep.
