I live in Weatherford Texas with Dorothie, my wife of 42 years. The area where we live is also known as The Cross Timbers region that extends north into Oklahoma. This is the home of Oliver Loving and Charles Goodnight. The Goodnight-Loving Trail starts on the Brazos River about 40 miles west of here. The western story "Lonesome Dove" was compiled and written here in Weatherford. Branches of the Chisholm Trail pass through here and east of us in the Fort Worth area. It is a pretty place with rolling hills and nice rivers. We've been here since 2006 and in Texas in general since 2001. Previously, I lived in New Mexico (approx. 28 years; met & married my bride of 40+ years in 1978 while there), Reno & Pahrump Nevada (4.5 years), Golden Colorado (4 months). We get away by hitching our travel trailer to our pickup truck and heading for the mountains of New Mexico or Colorado. I work as a Senior Petroleum Geologist/Geology Manager for a small oil and gas company in Fort Worth since May 6, 2019.
