Robert's Story

Life Stuck down here in the swamps of Florida, far away removed from my family and friends I occupy my time by holding two jobs on the side of my military career. Waiting for the day I can get back to SD to see my daughters School I dont think there is anything about High School that I regret, there are many things that I wish I had done sooner. My biggest crush already knows who she is. As for teachers I would have to say it was a tie between Ms. Graber and MRs. Hawk. Both of them challenged me to perform at my best when I myself was looking just to get by. When I think back on high school my fondest memories are those I have from the trip we took to Berkley for the debate tournament hosted by CAL. It was a fun time and allowed me to get away from home for the first time ever really to live life on my own, though supervised it still gave a rememberable experience. ough as part of an all male division we had both good and bad times, but the hardest part was dealing with the lack of sleep that recruits now adays are not subjected to. After being ranked among the top 10% of my division was given an meritorious advancement to e-2. When I went through A school I was again top 10% and given an accelerated advancement to e-4. When I reported to my command there was annomosity towards me but for the most part the division was all about hanging out and taking care of each other. During the Iraqi Freedom operations I got to play a pivotal role in my ships performance of our duties. I got to go to many new and exotice places and participate in the navy's experimental sea swap which is when I transferred from Higgins to Benfold. Now things have settled down and I am looking for orders, I need to do something that will set me up for either Chief or getting a good job when I get out.
