Robert's Story
Hi all. I left Hanford in 1975 I think, and never came back to live. I visited frequently though. I was there last in 2000. I buried my friend Harry brown in 1999, although It may have been in 2000. I am married for well over 30 years. I have 3 boys and 3 girls. I lived in Colorado my birth place for several years after leaving Hanford and also lived in Sacramento California and live there today. I have been a retail meat cutter, a maintenance worker a youth counselor, a Prison guard and a minister all that time. I spent about 23 years in the ministry over all and took time off after 7 days a week in the ministry. All of my brothers and sisters are still alive and l thank God so is my mother. My dad passed away in 1979. I never really knew him though but it was still a rough patch. I worked in a prison for several years as a corrections officer and a facilitator of violent offender and sex offender groups? Well that was fun. I don't have many regrets except getting busted for pot 38 years ago. but I have since been pardoned and now they're getting ready to legalize it. Go figure. I don't smoke it now and haven't in decades just in case you're ...Expand for more
wondering. I want to thank all of you who have written me you have definetly stirred up a lot of fond memories. I Really loved Hanford. I hope I was pleasant or at least nice to most of you most of the time. I think I was O.K. It's hard to believe it has been this long. I am planning to put up a before and after shot for those of you that are at all curious as to what I look like now. All of my friends are taking the final long walk and I figured it's time to start doing more than I have been because time sure does fly. I'm still planning on getting a big bike maybe this year and then we'll see what happens after that. What can I say? I'm blessed. I love my wife, my kids, my life. I have most of my own hair and all of my teeth and can still get around pretty good. Incidently I saw the Doobie Brothers at Thunder Valley last 2011 and they were phenominal, some things in life are simply non-negotiable. I can't believe they are still that good. I guess I have taken a stab at just about everything I wanted without reservation. I don't think I would change a thing. It's been a wonderful ride and looking forward to much much more.
Much Love Robert 72
