OK, I guess in HS most people will remember me for being a musician. Well as a life, it wasn't all it was cut out to be...after 4 years of pushing myself it became almost a job (in other words, less fun). I went off to college at UT Austin and started out majoring in music. After two more years of that (although by then I was having fun again playing for $$ around town) I figured it wasn't the life for me. I needed something less Bohemian, so I changed my major to Liberal Arts. I got degrees in History and English (much more up my alley) and went on to get a commission as an Air Force officer and did that for 6 years. Since then, I've worked for a couple of Fortune 100 companies in the food and beverage industry. However just this March (2007) I got a call from out of the blue to come and work for a privately-owned industri...Expand for more
al manufacturing company running a plant here in Texas, which is a job that takes a lot less time and pays a lot more money! How did I get this lucky? My beautiful wife Denise, is an elementary school teacher and my 12 year old son is perfecting the pre-teen art of mastering PSP video games and playing golf with me. All in all, I'm doing alright for an old guy who just turned FORTY back in January!!!
Just a few months ago my wife talked me into getting back into music just for fun, so I went out and got a trumpet. It has been quite a journey back after rarely touching one over the last 18 years, but my chops are starting to come back around. Once I feel like I am back in shape I am going to join an orchestra or band of some sort here in the Dallas area. So I just may be coming back full circle. Who knows, life is funny that way!
