Robert's Story
I went to Grover Cleveland H.S. from 1961-1964 & finished up at Richmond Hill H.S. in 1965. The Dean at Grover Cleveland asked me to leave...I was mischievous to say the least. After the Marine Corp and a Stint in the Army & a year in Vietnam, I started working for the Long Island Railroad as an Engineer and spent 28 years at it. I'm now retired and living in Myrtle Beach SC.
One of the wildest things I ever did in H.S. was playing strip poker in the Projection room for the auditori...Expand for more
um with a few other guys and 3 gals..and then getting caught by the teacher in charge of the audio visual squad...got suspended for that...and the teacher took all our keys away.
I admired one teacher in particular..Mr. Bob Modica, he was an actor on the side and is one today, I see him from time to time on TV...I had him for English. He also directed the H.S. Plays, and I was one of about 6 students who helped build the stage sets, under the guidence of our shop teacher Mr. Lipman.
