Robert's Story
2003
I taught English for 26 years-mostly in El Centro. I coached swimming and tried to stay in shape for most of those years, but recently I had to go on disability. Thank God for my wife, Maria, who has been supportive, helpful and understanding. She became an elementary school principal after years of teaching. We met at Chico State and were married in 1977. Now we live in Grass Valley. I hope this note finds you healthy. I developed a Lupus-like disease that makes getting around more challenging, but I'm doing a lot better. Email me, I'm still alive and scratchin'....

and now live in Grass Valley, CA. The cooler climate has done wonders for me. This year we grew about 10 monsterous tomato plants, squash plants, pumkins, eggplants, peppers, corn and lots of flowers. We also planted some fruit trees too: a fig tree, plum tree, pear, apple, and cherry. Unfortunately the cherry trees died this spring when we had a late freeze. We have 4 labrador retrievers: Dino, Scratchy, Layla and Chaser. We also have 6 cars, which is total craziness, but we love old cars too. Our house is surrounded by beautiful pine trees and lots of deer and wild animals-it's a little piece of heaven- adios amigos.
