After high school I went to Winona College in Winona Minnesota, from there I joined the Marines and went on to become a Vice Admiral's orderly who was in charge of all the ships in the Mediterranean, I spent three years on the French Rivera. We had a Marine football team on the ship and went undefeated playing other ships football teams throughout the Med. I came home and did various jobs from driving a tractor trailer for a number of years and then broke into sales. I spent the rest of my career with RRDonnelley and was Eastern & MId-West regional manager. My wife refused to relocate to Chicago because we had just had out first grandchild so the negated any further promotion but the did respect my position and assigned me the mid-West as well.
