Robert's Story

What can I say. I spent the first 20 years of my life in Felicity. I went from Kindergarten through the 10th grade at Felicity. I attended Grant Vocational School my 11th & 12th years.I enjoyed school and played sports. After graduation I tried working in the carpentry trade, but the building market at that time was going through some tough times, like what we are going through currently. I built T-3 industrial robots for a year at Cincinnati Milacron and then worked at Allis Chalmers (Siemens-Allis) for another year.I went to the Clermont branch of UC in Batavia, Ohio for 1.5 years. I said goodbye to Ohio and moved to Fort Myers , Florida in 1982. Worked in a number of maintenance and service jobs and decided to join the US Air Force in 1984.I was trained to do component level electronics repair on Cryptographic analog & digital communication equipment. It was here I got my feet wet in computers.I stayed in for 4 years in Germany. There I met a lot of terrific people from all over the US, I traveled to many countries and got to see things like the Vatican museum, the Sistine Chapel (half-way through it's restoration), the Eiffel Tower & the Eagle's nest to name a few.Returned to Florida met a girl, dated for 4 years and married her. We moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in May of 1997 and within a month was working for the District Attorney office as their Computer tech. My wife and I had our first child in 2000, we named her Erin Paige Jobe. A beautiful red-haired, blue-eyed girl. She was my life changer. I knew that up until then there was something missing in my life and being a proud devoted father was it. She makes all the hard work all worth it for me. I continued working at the D.A O...Expand for more
ffice until January of 2004 right before the birth of our second child Ian Riley Jobe another red-haired blue-eyed baby boy. Wow two red heads that's a lot of energy and fire. I'm a real hands on dad so I enjoy the challenge.I started my new job as a Computer Specialist for NMSU (New Mexico State University) and have been there for five years. I work for the Agriculture side of the campus and I enjoy working around the Fish and Wildlife,Plant Science, Entomologists and Conservationists. The people here in New Mexico are really good-hearted and family oriented. The weather is fantastic also. We get about 300 days of sunshine a year and very little rain, usually 12" a year. A sad time for our family happened on May 27th, 2007, when our father, Henry F. Jobe passed away. He was the best dad anyone could ask to have in one's life. Loving, hardworking, dedicated to his families needs and well being.I know he is with the Lord, but still is greatly missed. Another sad time for me, my marriage came to an end after 16 years, but life sometimes will do things that at first seem to be unbearable, then time seems to make things better. I have my two kids with me about 90% of the time and we have a lot of fun together. Also I'm very fortunate to have the support of my sister Marian and her family and also my mom lives with me. She is 84 years old and gets around like a person half her age. Also like my father, my mom is a loving, dedicated mother, who can always be counted on to help in any way. I can only hope to be as healthy and active when I get there. So the new year has finally come and I'm sure new and interesting things are coming for us down the road. I'm a happy camper and enjoying my life.
