Robert's Story
Went from OPRF to the University of Dubuque, earning a BA in English in 1970. Back to OP, then back to Dubuque a year later, then moved to Texas in 1972. Went to southern Colorado to teach HS English in '73. Left after two years to return to school at Eastern Illinois University. Earned an MA in English and an MSLS (Library Science) there. ool at North Texas. Went to Nassau in 1987 to work in the library at the College of the Bahamas. Back to TX for almost three years at Fort Worth Public Library. Finally, moved to eastern Oregon in 1992 to be library director at the Milton-Freewater Public Library, where we replaced the 1918 Carnegie library with a nice new building with private funding -- no bond issue. Stuck around to enjoy it, retiring in 2014. Currently volunteering at an elementary school library.
