Robert's Story

Life After MHS I left for the Bahamas, and then was off to MIT for an Aeronautical Engineering degree. I played and then coached baseball. I started to go to grad school at UC San Diego, but ended up at Draper Lab at MIT training the astronauts in "recursive navigation theory"--whatever! Anyway it helped them rendezvous in orbit after the moon landing. Then, off to Harvard Business School for an MBA and the high tech world. I met my wife (an identical twin) after a party my roommates and I held, and we married during b-school. We have raised two sons, who at the time of this writing (Feb. 2005) are in grad school. I have been in the business world for 30+ years. I worked for a computer company for ...Expand for more
16 years, during which we spent 6+ years in St. Louis and Detroit. About 1990 I started a sequence of positions in small software companies as VP of Sales and/or Marketing. Since then I have been the President and CEO of a small company, and I am now Chairman of the Board. I dedicate a fair amount of time as a mentor in the MIT Venture Mentoring Service, helping young engineers and faculty members start and run companies. I only want to do fun things from here on. We live in Sudbury, MA but hope to transition closer to Boston soon so that we can buy a condo and be close to the boys. We will probably buy a second place in the Naples/Bonita Springs, Florida area for winter relief from the snows of Boston.
