Robert's Story
After high school, I went to Longview C.C. took a lot of classes and drank way too much brew over in Kansas. I did meet some fun people and had some great times. In this same time period, I dated a lot of different girls . Then I met the one! I knew from the first date that I was in trouble. Her name was Diann Barreca(Ohara 72). We started dating in June 73 and were married in Oct 74. After almost 35 years, we are still going strong, love her more everyday! We have 2 great kids, Carla born April 1977 and Cara born Nov.1980 It's hard to believe that my babies are getting to that magic age of 30+ Calra has 3 kids Glenn(2001),Robert(2006), and Jada(2007). Carla is a single mother and has her hands full. We help out as much as we can ( I had forgotten how much fun it was to change a dirty diaper). But we get by. Cara is married and has one son Jay(2006). I keep asking her when the next grandkid is coming. Everybody comes over on Sunday afternoon for dinner and playtime. e, the oldest will play his DSI, but the 3 little ones wow!! Ankle deep in toys in 4 different rooms, you get the picture. As for work,I have had only two main jobs since high school. First I worked at Jerry's united super(independence/bluesprings) from Jan 71 to March 1988. I left that company and went to work for Taystee bread which is now Sara Lee Bakery Group. My route is in western Shawnee, it's made up of Wal-mart, Target, and Hy-Vee all on Shawnee Mission parkway. I plan on working about 2 more years until I'm 57, then I can take my Teamster's retirement. Diann has worked for the federal govt. for over 30 years so she can retire anytime she wants, hopefully she will wait for me. I plan on posting some pictures of the grandkids and some family vacations that everybody went on. UPDATE 1-19-12 I RETIRED LAST WEEK. THIS IS GOING TO BE A BLAST. LOTS OF SLEEPING IN AND GOLF AND MESSING AROUND WITH THE GRANDKIDS. DIANN IS GOING TO RETIRE LATER THIS YEAR. HOPE TO SEE OLD FRIENDS MORE OFTEN
