Robert's Story
Life
In 1969, a baby boy was born in Kentucky. This boy would end up in Kansas through many different circumstances! I was born the second child of two, with a sister three years older than me. My father was a military man, and spent over 23 years serving his country. He instilled in me a pride for our country and taught me the importance of serving and sacrifice. Because of his career, we moved often in my childhood. I have lived in many states from Washington to Kentucky, and we also lived in Germany for three years. When I was fourteen, my dad was transferred to Ft. Riley, Kansas, and we settled in Abilene. I was fortunate to spend the rest of my teenage years into early adulthood in this small town. During high school, I played the trombone in band, and I was involved in football and track.
After high school, I went to Kansas State University. I began majoring in politics, but soon turned to teaching. I went to KSU for three years, and then transferred to Wichita State University. Little did I know that God had moved me to Wichita to meet my future wife! Tammy and I met in an education class, and began dating. During that time, I became a Christian. A year later, we were marrie...Expand for more

That same year, I started teaching. Since 1992, I have taught Social Studies, Science, Special Education and other misc. subjects. I have obtain my Masters degree in Administration and am currently the Principal of Marshall Elementary School in Eureka, Kansas. I believe that education is extremely important, and I enjoy working with kids, making a difference in their lives. There is never a day that repeats itself, and that fits my personality! I enjoy a challenge, and being a school principal gives me a challenge each day.
What I enjoy most in the world is my family. I love to spend time with them. We go bike riding, jogging, play tennis, go to K-State football games, and travel somewhere new each year. I also enjoy weight-lifting, piddling with my old car my 1971 Chevelle from High School, or volunteering for projects like Habitat for Humanity, and I enjoy Nascar races. I have coached many sports in years past, including soccer, football, basketball and track. I also enjoy family time. Both of our families live close by within an hourÂs drive, and we try to spend as much time with them as we can. We also do a lot of entertaining with friends and our house is always open.
