Life In 1969, a baby boy was born in Kentucky. This boy would end up in Kansas through many different circumstances! I was born the second child of two, with a sister three years older than me. My father was a military man, and spent over 23 years serving his country. He instilled in me a pride for our country and taught me the importance of serving and sacrifice. Because of his career, we moved often in my childhood. I have lived in many states from Washington to Kentucky, and we also lived in Germany for three years. When I was fourteen, my dad was transferred to Ft. Riley, Kansas, and we settled in Abilene. I was fortunate to spend the rest of my teenage years into early adulthood in this small town. During high school, I played the trombone in band, and I was involved in football and track. After high school, I went to Kansas State University. I began majoring in politics, but soon turned to teaching. I went to KSU for three years, and then transferred to Wichita State University.
