Robert's Story
The story of Robert Little as told by his daughter. Robert married Frances Powell in December after graduating Bakersfield high. They moved to LA and had me that next November. Almost 3 years later they had my brother Rick. Dad worked aerospace all my life. We moved back to Bakersfield a couple of times and I actually graduated from South High. We lived most of his years in Orange County, CA. Dad worked for JPL on the Mariner project (the first to go to Mars) His name is on a plaque up there. He worked on several defense projects over the years. Dad retired at 59 due to medical reasons and he spent most of the time working on his house. He also painted in oils. Before...Expand for more
his illness Dad had painted 7 portraits and several sea scapes. Him and Mom also spent over 10 years working on their geneology, they were able to go all the way back to the pre-revolutionary war for one of the familes. They made 2 books on this and traveled to several states gathering information. When he passed he left his wife of 51 years, 2 children and 4 grandchildren all of which loved him very much. He is also survived by 2 brothers, one in Bakersfield the other in New Mexico and his only sister in Bakersfield.
Dad was a very humble and religious man who loved his wife deeply as she did him. Mom passed 4 months and 10 days after Dad. We miss them both very much.
