Robert's Story

Robert's schools include Munich American High School. After dropping out of U of MD in my 3rd year, I worked small jobs for a few years. Then I heard of Twin Oaks Community, a commune started in 1967. I visited it in 1978 and really liked it. I have been here ever since. About 100 people live here on about 300 acres in central Virginia, sharing land, housing, and income. We live by agreements, without any leader, governing ourselves. We have cottage industries to support the community, making hammocks and making tofu. Visitors are welcome, just contact me in advance (I now go by the nickname Shal, part of my middle name). tionally known, just goggle Twin Oaks Community. Some of my interests now are Dancing (free-form, Swing dancing, Waltzing, Contra Dancing); listening to fine music (rock, space / ambient, classical, bluegrass); enjoying beautiful natural places like forests or streams or cliffs or seashore; views like sunsets; Trees - Climbing or from the ground; talking with good people; traveling to more beautiful places and fine people. This summer and Fall I will be taking a sabbatical to travel to see more beautiful places in Nature and connect with good people. Perhaps I could visit some of you! If you would like to ask me about that, contact me :-)

In many sections of rock there were rounded gaps in the rock, like a section had been scpooped out. Do not know how that happened.
