Robert's Story
After leaving high school early (like a big dummy) I went into the Air Force for four years. I was lucky and got out in January of 1964, just before Vietnam got really hot. I had worked in retail and electronics part time while in the Air Force; I followed my Dad's footsteps and worked as an Ironworker until June of 1969 when I joined the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department. Retired as a Detective in March of 1999 but continued with the Department in a part time position until February of 2009 as an annuitant....Expand for more
When the budget cuts caused full time Deputies to be laid off, I left and was truly retired until March 2010 and I was persuaded to take a part time position as an Investigator for the Amador County Sheriff's Department.
I play golf at least once a week, but usually 2 to 3 times a week. The wife raises and rides horses, and we have a small herd of cattle that she raises with a little help from me.
I have two grandsons, they are 22 & 24 and the older one is going to make me a Great Grandfather in April of 2011.
