Robert's Story

Life I have registered for 4 H.S. because being from a military family we were stationed across Canada. I retired Nov. 8, 2003, after a 30-year career at the Ottawa Citizen and I now am developing a former newspaper building (built in 1860 or so) in Brockville into apartments. Schools were: Kamloops, Alfred, Vankleek Hill, Rosemere, Que. Stanley, N.B., Ottawa. Workplace My 30 years at the newspaper have flown by, but they were rewarding. Now I move out to the second part of my life, which at this points looks like it will be busier than the first half. I intend to work until I die. illion. Not that many years left. Going to funderal Jan 25, as i turnn 65 this month, to funeral of a 80-year-old woman's whose husband's family have been our farm neighours since the late 1800s. Ah to go back and time and see grandmama and grandpapa, French, or oma and opa, the dutch side of my roots, in their prime. God I will be 80 in 15 years, God willing. Much to young to go. I hope to hit 100 or more, which is about the top speed for my still reliable 1978 Fiat spider, purchased new and fill with 35 years of memories, with all the nephews and nieces and children others pictured at the wheel of mysmall sports car. Who will get whenI die? Still undecided. So if family reads this, better be good to uncle bobby.
