Life
Hey all, seem like another life time ago since those care free high school days. Ya'll may not remember me as I was pretty much a loner back then...not much changed there!! Had I known life would have been like this I'd have made more of those simpler times. After graduation (class of 77) I bummed around till I hired on with BG&E as a plant operator. After 10yrs I took a corporate buy-out, sold the house and moved to sunny Fl. making residence on Merritt Island and finally bought a house there in 97. Was employed at Merritt Sq. Mall as the Central Energy Plant Manager for 8yrs. That was a cool place! Produced our own electricty(5.8mW), heat, steam and air conditioning through absorbsion chilling all right there in the mall. Just before they closed the doors on the plant I hired on with CSR and am now the Power house/utilities Foreman for a USAF base on a sunny tropical island half way around the world. Not bad since I flunked electric shop in school..go figure! I'm an avid diver (SCUBA) into deep sea fishing and all outdoor activities. I never had time for a wife as I was too busy checking out new places/things. I do however, have a wonderful 19yr old daughter. I only hope she does at least half the things I've done before she settles down. The world is just too big and life goes by too fast to just not get out and enjoy ever...Expand for more
y minute of it. I will be moving back home in Dec (Merritt Is.) and maybe even consider settling down myself..................(is that possible?) after the last 4yrs of living in paradise? My sister Helen (class of 74) lives right down the road from my house. Other things I'm into is doing a complete renovation on my house, going room by room striping it down to bare block wall, re-doing the electric (remember electric class?) plumbing, insulation and drywall when on leave from my little island here. Also into bike riding (harley) as it's a great way to see the countryside. Plus the weather in Fl is a whole lot more agreeable then in Md. I do miss the Chesapeake bay and the change of seasons from time to time but would never want to live in the cold again...spoiled ain't I? lol.
The story continues...Having moved back home in late Oct. 05 after a plane delay due to a late season hurricane (gotta love Fla.) I am now enjoying early retirement.
Updates: daughter is now 21...holy crap, how/when that happen??? Gawd I'm getting old!
Just kickin back these days doing what I want, when I want. Riding on good days, sailing on windy ones, taking trips around the country. Last one to Md during that Feb 07 ice storm. Had to remind myself why I moved...Good to see old friends from time to time. Watch for me coming to a town near yours.
