NEWS FLASH! I AM CURRENTLY STAYING AT MY SISTER NANCY (CLASS OF '77) HOUSE IN OLYMPIA SINCE MARCH UNTIL I AM FINISHED WITH TREATMENTS OF RARE TYPE OF T-CELL LYMPHOMA THAT WAS DISCOVERED IN FEBRUARY. AFTER ALL DONE PERHAPS MOVED BACK TO ABERDEEN. MOST OF ALL HOPE/PRAY FOR SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT. After high school I went to Centralia C.C. for two years(74-76), degree in Recreation Leadership. Did one year of student coaching basketball at Timberline for Pete Lundberg and John Patton. My first job during my sophmore year at the once famous South Sound Mall was at Lerner's. Then Bob Apostol (Class of '74)hired me to work at a Jarman Mens Shoe dept at People's Dept store. Then I also work for Peoples ladies and children shoe dept. as well. Prior to leaving I got my first car, "70 Mach 1 Mustang with Cobra, Red with black. Oh my! Would love to drive that car again!! Went to school for one year at Eastern Washington U. (77-78), majoring Secondary Physical Ed. and minor in coaching. Also coached basketball at Cheney Middle School (7th Grade Boys). At that time I lived at Medical Lake and volunteered at Lakeland Village. Also got introduced to running from a friend. Got a taste of life in Seattle for six months in '78 while working at a group home for disabilities and living at a apt. near Lake Union. Then moved back to Olympia. In 1978-82 I did mostly retail jobs in variety of stores, once in Portland area as store mgr, opened a new family shoe store one mile from Beaverton.. Work at Olympia Cheese Co. in '82-83 (thanks Mitch Vernon, Class of "72). During those years I was active in bowling, tennis (with Mitch) and running 10k's and playing pool. Oh yes! For some reason I stopped running in summer of "83 in which to this day I regret.
