CLASS OF 1980
Radcliff, KY

Robert's Story

My story eh? After graduating in 80' we'll just say I first took a year long leave of absence, and leave that at that. When my Mom passed in July 81' We went to Oklahoma to bury her, she wanted to be buried next to her mother. I stayed there for the next 3 1/2 yrs, but got sick of it really quick, simply put, OK is miles of nothing with nothing to do. The glass company I worked for decided to put a plant in Louisville KY, and I really wanted to come home, so, I transferred to Louisville, where I have been living since Jan 85'. By summer of 1993 I finally decided there was nothing left for me with them, and I parted ways with that job. After a few temp jobs I became a Tool and Die tech at a metal shop in Nov 94', but in June 01' some of my fellow workers decided to go on strike, during which I found another job. However, by Nov 05' worked slowed and I was layed-off, but, God is good, I went back to work at the afore mentioned glass, temporarily, then found my current career. I am a CNC machine operator for Tennant, the largest manufacture...Expand for more
r of scrubbing and sweeping equipment. If you have seen the floor scrubbers used at places like Walmart, Kroger, UPS, any office building and street and lot sweepers, there's a chance I made the brushes for some of them. Anyway, the pay and benefits are excellent, we are well connected in the international market with an excellent growth outlook, the atmosphere is familial, and its only 3 minutes from home. As I said, I have been living in Louisville Ky since Jan 85', I finally quit smoking in 99' after 25 yrs, and got into health and fitness. I have also been a practicing Christian since 99', but don't worry, I'm not here to preach, I'm still the quite reserved guy that some you may remember, I live by the saying, "Preach the Gospel at all times, and sometimes use words." Also, I have been divorced since 92', with no children, and yes, I am still hoping for that special someone. All in all, I am happy and content, and I pray that all of you are as well. Anyway, that's my story, the condensed and sanitized version. God Bless and much Love.
