Bob's Story
After leaving Richland HS I attended three universities and got bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering (civil and biomedical) and secondary education.
I've traveled widely throughout North and Central America, Western and Eastern Europe, and Africa, most of it by bicycle. I'm still an avid biker and hiker and plan to resume traveling more frequently since my wife and I recently retired and my youngest son is now in college.
My other passion is basketball which I play at least three times a week.
I'm also involved in monitoring hawks in Utah's West Desert which involves lots of hiking to check on the health and activity in about 40 nests situated in about 100 square miles of territory.
I met my wife Nancy while working for the government and both of us worked many years for the Department of Veterans Affairs...Expand for more
. I was a biomedical engineer. Both of us gained enormous respect for the sacrifices that veterans have suffered for our country and are strongly against the use of military force except when fully justified and as a last resort.
My wife and I built a environmentally sensitive home on beautiful Millcreek in Salt Lake City. It is featured as a case study in the Book, "Green By Design" authored by the architect Angela Dean. Check it out.
My daughter Lara is a Spanish interpreter. She brought me a grandson on July 16, 2009.
My son Shane is still undeclared on his college major. He currently provides software support for Adobe.
Though I only attended Col-High for two years, and I was too shy to reach out to a lot of my classmates, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and the friends and adventures that I did experience.
