Robert's Story

Life After graduation I worked for two years until I joined the Marines in 1966. I received a commission a year and a half later and went on to be a Radar Intercept Officer on a Marine F4-B Phantom fighter jet. (Same job "Goose" had in the movie Top Gun). I met my wife Judy in Pensacola, Florida, during flight training. After I left the service in 1972 I attended and graduated from Architecture school at the University of Houston and became a Licensed Architect a few years later. I attended graduate school at Pepperdine University and received my MBA in my late 40s. About 13 years ago I left my old consulting firm of 12 years and with a partner started our own Architectural and Engineering consulting firm. We are headquartered in San Diego but now have opened offices in Dall...Expand for more
as, Houston, San Francisco. Newport Beach and Chicago in addition to Portland and Denver. My two daughters are grown and married and I now have four grandsons and one granddaughter who was born in November of 2006. One daughter is an Attorney and the other owns a painting company with her husband. My wife Judy is an elementary school teacher. Strangely enough she teaches with another former classmate of ours, Ann Schraner(formerly Rosevear). We live close to the ocean in La Jolla and enjoy our life down here a great deal. I have lived in several parts of the country and have traveled to Europe and Asia (thanks to Uncle Sam) but I find that there is no other place that has the climate and people like those in Southern California. This area will always be considered home.
