Thanks for viewing my story! After HS, I attended UC Berkeley, majoring in Computer Science. I remained in the SF Bay Area for another 16 years, where I worked for a number of high tech companies, two of the most notable being Silicon Graphics (SGI) and Cooper (the first interaction design consultancy, whose practice I helped build with Alan Cooper). In 1999, I married my lovely wife, Julie, who is an accomplished cellist, scientist, and physician (in roughly that chronological order). I'm also thrilled to announce that our first son, Max, was born on Feb. 28, 2006, and my second son, Alex, was born on Feb. 19th, 2008! After living 20 years in the San Francisco Bay Area working first as a writer and then as a digital product / interaction designer and consultant, I returned to the east coast (Brookline, MA) for 4 1/2 years, working in the Boston area as Manager of User Experience for Bose Corporation. I was in charge of a team of 25 user researchers, user interface designers, and technical writers defining the user experience and user documentation for most of Bose's product lines. In October 2007, my family and I relocated to the Seattle area (Mercer Island, WA), where I returned to the design consulting world, taking a position as an Associate Creative Director at Frog Design's Seattle studio.
