Robert's Story
After CHS I attended Northern Arizona Uninversity and graduated with a bachelors degree in education in 1971. My first teaching/coaching job was in Coolidge, Arizona where I taught health education and coached baseball and football. From there I moved to Yuma where I taught history and continued to coach baseball and football. After 8 years in education I decided to try something different and sold sporting goods for a year, then got a job at the Arizona State Capitol Museum where after a year I became a curatorial assistant, a position I held for 4 years. I missed teaching, so I returned to education and spent the next 26 years in various positions in the Phoenix area....Expand for more
I finished my career at Barry Goldwater High School where I retired in June 2010. I am now working at my sister-in-law's restaurant, Joe's Diner, two days a week and doing what ever I choose (as long as my wife says it's okay). Gail and I will have been married 35 years in July 2011 and have two great sons, Chris and Chad, and one grandson, Blake.
I look back on my years at CHS fondly and given the opportunity would not change those experiences. I have taught at several schools with from 800 to 2500 students and believe that the teachers and my fellow students at Calipat rank second to none. My heartfelt thanks to all of you for all those great memories. Go Hornets!
