Some landmarks after Grant '64 = + 1964 - 68 at L & C College, B.A. History. Active in Irvington Community Association, which was educational in itself. Planned on a career in journalism. Was assigned to Berlin Brigade, first in Transportation Corps (Rail Transportation Office) and then in a G-2 Division Special Project [declassified by Germany in 2011 but still classified by U.S. in 2014]. Left home after New Year's Day in 1969, returned home after Labor Day 1971, used all my leave time to tour Europe, thinking that at any day I would get orders to go home on the way to Vietnam. The 1973 OPUC report for Portland was the start of planning which led to Tri-Met light rail. + 1972 married Sylvia (nee Fillion) in her home town, Edmonton, Alberta. + Our son, Stephen, born 1975. + 1976 - 85 emigrated to Canada where I worked for City of Edmonton and Edmonton Public Schools, including the first modern Light Rail project, opened in 1978 and the first rail Proof of Payment fare collect...Expand for more
