Robert's Story
Life
While running home after Euclid Junior High School wrestling practice, Mike Miller and I promised to practice law together when we grew up. Although Mike went straight from Dartmouth to law school, after I graduated from the CU College of Business, I took a couple of years off to hang out in Boulder and ski every day during the winter. In 1986, after working for a large downtown firm and the Public Defender's office, I was conviced to keep my promise to Mike.
Our firm, Miller & Steiert, P.C., which includes Mike's sister, Katy, has 9 attorneys and an office at 1901 W. Littleton, Blvd. I specialize in litigation and trial work, primarily in the areas of major personal injury cases and employment law.
I live in Cherry Hills with my wife, Jan, who is an attorney specializing in intellectual property law and international mining transactions. She spends a lot of time traveling to Asia and Latin America...Expand for more

Our son, Jason, is a freshman at Colorado College who loves playing varsity soccer, weight training, skiing, camping, cooking, and community service. The highlight of his year is the week he spends as a camp counselor at the Muscular Dystrophy Camp in Georgetown.
I'm still a soccer dad at heart, but I also love to bicycle, ski and travel. I'm active in the many projects of the Denver Tech Center Rotary, especially those in the Dominican Republic where we have helped establish a school for the deaf, built libraries in schools, and brought clean water to hundreds of families. I also help to coach the Cherry Creek High School Mock Trial Team.
I'm proud that the ABK tradition lives on, but I was a little surprised when I went to an AHS soccer game and saw parents wearing ABK sweaters, windbreakers, and leather jackets. If only we had trademarked the ABK name in 1967, think of the riches we would have.
