Robert's Story
I am blessed to live in a place where I still see folks I went to Eureka High School with. After High School I was drafted into the Army, the only lottery I've ever won. The Army was the best thing that could have ever happened, to me. College of the Redwoods graduate, discovered school is a whole different, read better, in college. Loved every minute of it. e so I took a summer job at the place my dad, Gordon, worked at, Crown Simpson Pulp Mill. One summer turned into almost 20 years. I'd still be there if they hadn't closed the mill down.
At least we got retraining funds, which meant I was going to get paid to go to school again. What a great country we live in.
I'm now a self employed orthopedic shoemaker with 20 years experience. Life is good!
