Bob's Story
Hi Everyone,
I have no idea where to start. I should start by saying that I have been blessed and I am living a good life. After St. Bernard¿s I went to West LA College and met my now deceased wife Pat at West LAC. We were married in 1972 and moved to Oxnard for a short time while I worked for Oxnard PD. We returned to West LA, I was working for the California State Police then and became acquainted with Ronald Reagan.
We moved to Pleasant Hill in 1975, when I transferred to the State Police Oakland Office. I was promoted to Sergeant in San Francisco, and Mark Twain was right, the coldest winter I ever experienced was a summer in SF. 1978 came along, and my son Jim was born. That same year I started the best assignment I ever had, I went to work on the staff of the Deputy Chief of Police. He was a great man who gave his staff assignments and left us alone to get results. His only requirement was that we had accomplished the mission in a legal, moral and ethical manor; ¿the book¿ was not a factor. 1980 brought the birth of my daughter Christine. I watched my children grow and I wondered how I ever became so very lucky.
I returned to school and in 1985 earned a Batcher¿s degree for St. Mary¿s College i...Expand for more
n Business; Mr. Salvino was on my shoulder. Yes, another school the Saint as a part of its name. That same year I returned to the State Police Oakland Office and took over command at the rank of Lieutenant. On September 11, 1988, I was involved in an extended shoot out at 11th and Jackson in Oakland that put a premature end to my police career.
A management opportunity with the Corporate Security Department First Nationwide Bank brought me to Sacramento, where I live today. In 1992 I opened my own privet investigations firm and having my own business has been wonderful, I get to make the rules. Tragedy struck my family that same year when my wife of 30 years lost a seven year fight with cancer.
Last year I received one of the other great blessings of my life when Cindy Jones became Mrs. Tuber. To have two wonderful women become a part of my life is a wonder I will never understand. I am now a criminal investigator and put as many people in jail as I did carrying a badge. I have a great family, great clients, and a wonderful life. There have been many major challenges in my life and many obstacles to overcome, but I would not change one thing for fear that I would not have all the blessings I have today.
