Robert's Story
College
Not much of a college person. I went to South West School of Electronics in Austin Texas Where i earned an associates in Electronics Technology. That was ten years ago roughly and currently I am enrolled in DeVry University in Austin where I will finish my four year degree in Technical Management. Just FYI and update on 11/2/08. Technically I never really graduated from High school. I ended up failing most of my senior year classes, and was supposed to go to summer school. I had enough credits to walk the stage but what was the point right? I was on the beach partying, and besides I had already enlisted. Leave it to the Marines to go ahead and accept me in anyway. It was not untill I was left the service in '93 did I return back to PC and take my G.E.D. test where I passed (with a High school diploma credential not a GED as I later found out.) needless to say I later used my G.I. bill to go to a private school, similar to ITT, in Austin Tx. I later went on to finish my B.S. degree from DeVry in Technical Management,Cum Laude, in Austin. Hell my parents were right after all! I had it in me, I just didn't apply myself at the time....Expand for more
With kids of my own I try to remember not to push them to what I want, I rather try to help them to what they want. (granted they are still young but why wait till they are in high school?)
Military
United States Marine Corps 2nd Battalion 7th Marines. Stationed in MCAGCC 29 Palms California 89-93. Nuff said.
I have lived in several places, being a military dependent, and having served myself. Needless to say I like to travel when the opportunity arises. Some of the places I have been include, Idaho, Philippines, Michigan, Louisiana, Florida, California , Japan, Kuwait ( mostly the desert), and finally Texas..Yeehaw Ya'll. There are other places where I have visited breifly but, its too much to list.
What I have learned from being a parent is that it's not easy, I don't know how my parents did it with four kids!... when I only have two! I also realized what unconditional love really means, and how a father can share his love between 2 sons. Any more than that right now would be pushing the upper control limit¿ though I would still like to have a little girl. While it seems doubtful for now, perhaps we'll adopt at some later date.
