I'm a very fortunate person. At age 21 I met an extraordinary woman who was, and still is, uncommonly loving, caring & selfless. We've been married since 1973 & have two grown children. Our son went to college in Washington D.C. & I was able to re-connect with old friends who had relocated to the D.C./Baltimore area. Laurie Berk, who lived in Chevy Chase, became our unofficial guide to D.C. not to mention the Jewish mother to our son when he couldn't make it home for the holidays (she could make a mean brisket!). Also, my oldest friend, Marc Shapiro, started to date Laurie after our 30th reunion & we would always get together with them when we were in D.C.
