As an Army brat, my mom and I awaited dad’s return from Germany during the Cold War era in Ogdensburg, NY living in the Ford Street block just South of Bishop Conroy Memorial School and St. Mary’s Academy. Ogdensburg was my dad’s birthplace, and his family was mostly in and around there. Ironically, we had never been back prior to this move to Ogdensburg and I was enrolled in Bishop Conroy Memorial School (elementary) which I graduated from in 1958 which would have made me around 11 years old at the time. I then entered my freshman year of high school enrolled in St. Mary’s Academy but as memory serves, we left at school year end to move to another Army base upon my dad’s service return from Germany. So, we spent the better part of two years living in Ogdensburg. Fast forward my career and life, I graduated from Holy Family High School in New Bedford, MA in 1965.
