Robert's Story
Life
After High School, I joined the Army as a Military Policeman. I was stationed in Taegu, Korea and Ft.Bliss, Texas. When I got out of the service in 79, I returned to Ukiah and worked at my parents print shop. In Feb. 1990, I left there and went to work for Lake County Sheriff's Dept. as a Correctional Officer. I left there in Sept. 96 and went to work for the California Dept. of Corrections at Pelican Bay State Prison in Crescent City as a Correctional Officer. I promoted to Sergeant in May of 2002 and plan on staying here until I retire in 9 years. (I can't believe that retirement is that close, no wonder all of the gray hair that's sprouting out.)I was living in Brookings, Oregon until recently when I was forced to ...Expand for more
move back to Crescent City. I recently was divorced. I don't have any kids. I'm just working and trying to get my life back in order. I come to Ukiah occasionally to visit my Mom and sisters. I promoted to Lieutenant in Dec 2005. I met a very nice lady who lives in Medford, Oregon in July 2007. We are planning on getting married in August 2009. We have a honeymoon trip planned to Hawaii. Then it's back to the grind. Retirement is getting closer. Hopefully in about 4 years, then travel. I got remarried in 2009 and We went on a couple of cruises. I was able to retire in April 2015 and we took a Panama Canal cruise Other than that we moved into a different home in Crescent City and are probably going to stay here.
