walks on the beach,NFL and NCAA football, and KU basketball. GO JAYHAWKS! GO KANSAS CITY GRIEFS errr KANSAS CITY CHIEFS!
I remember graduating from SMN as one of three valedictorians with Roenick and Kevin Fritzen. Many were surprised, especially my football teammates. We went to state 2/3 years when I was there and we lost to Wichita State both years (my position was DUMMYHOLDER for the starters - Bernie Spear,Arocha,Specht, etc.) Our coach Larry Taylor said that we were overachievers considering our talent level. Football Practices were tough, but were character building and made us both physically and mentally tougher. I did get to play on special teams.
Dear to my heart was the Roeland Park United Methodist Church youth group and Sunday school that I enjoyed while in junior high and in high school. We were a large and close knit group with Fred Houser and his wife as leaders (Debi Houser's parents). Times were good back then. A lot of fun without many responsibilities.
Would love to hear from the other members of the class of 1978. The class of "78 was indeed GREAT!
