Robert's Story
Life
My dad died when I was in grade 8. My brother and I had to go to work after that. After a short stint at the Murray Printing Co. we left for Los Angeles and lived there for awhile (Lazed around, going nowhere). We then moved to Vancouver and lived there for about 9 months - worked at Spear & Jackson Sawmill. I returned to Toronto and worked at Bangor Lodge in Muskoka for a while, then Canadian & Toronto General Insurance Co. for 2 years.
Joined the army during Korean War. Too young for Korea so got posted to the Northwest Territories RC Signal Corp's NWT & Y Radio System.
Spent 6 years at various radio stations - Ft.Resolution, Ft. Reliance, Brochet Manitoba, Ft. Simpson, Norman Wells, Yellowknife (got married), Hay River, then back to Toronto with honourable discharged.
Next 16 ,years had a career with Federal Governnment Ministry of Transsport Radio Operations at various airports - Pearson, Pagwa, Gore Bay Marine/Aeradio Manitoulin Island, Ottawa International etc. Promoted to area supervisor eastern ontario, after that "quit", and headed to Alberta to open a music business.
On-and-on-and-on etc. Too boring to continue.
Maybe I should go back to school. What do you say Ernie? Wanna come ...
